Collaborative schooling for change

The Network for Social and Educational Equity will be discussing the work of the team at a webinar this week, Collaborative Schooling for Change (Wednesday 3 February 2021, 12-1.30pm).

Presentations within this webinar will highlight research with policymakers and practitioners, aimed at enabling all children to achieve their full potential, irrespective of background.

Professor Chris Chapman and Dr Jo Neary will discuss what NSEE does (builds research and development collaborations with schools and their partners to close the poverty-related achievement gap) and give an overview of a range of our projects. 

Professor Louise Hayward will talk about the CAMAU project, a collaboration between the University of Glasgow and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), funded by the Welsh Government and the UWTSD, which was designed to support the Welsh education system in this task. The focus of the CAMAU project has been progression. 

Finally, Professor Moyra Boland will elaborate on developing pedagogies that work for pre-service and early career teachers, which was part of a Scottish Council of Deans of Education project related to the Scottish Attainment Challenge. It analysed research and practice that sought to reduce the attainment gap in literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing. 

Registration will end one hour before the start of the event.

About NSEE

The Network for Social and Educational Equity (NSEE) is part of the Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change (ROC) at the University of Glasgow.

It works in collaboration with schools, local authorities, Education Scotland and partner services to tackle the poverty-related attainment gap in young people’s education.

NSEE helps schools to use appropriate evidence and data within collaborative working approaches to critically examine context and current arrangements, make changes based on evidence, monitor the impact of these changes and reflect on what they learn.
